DAILY PRACTICE: Gratitude
It is in my nature to move quickly past my accomplishments and to blasé-ly brush victories. As F. Scott Fitzgerald wrote; I like to wear my heart where God put it -- on the inside. However, my disbelief in my own good fortune must end here, as it seems I have come to accrue a jaded perspective that will often rob me of the most essential ingredient for happiness -- G R A T I T U D E . Two people I am exceedingly grateful for are Nate and Michelle Remington. Nate and I connected last year over a shared love of photography and denim blue jeans. Nate is full of great ideas -- his struggle is deciding which one to pursue. Nate's wife Michelle is different -- calm, collected, and cool. For every five ideas Nate has, Michelle has three solutions and two pointers. The result is a couple who could not be better matched. The two are so fun to hang out with and every time they're here in the cities from Eau Claire I know we'll be having a stellar time.
The shots below are from a cold Saturday spent exploring NorthEast Minneapolis. There was one corner that had the best light I had ever seen so we stopped and instructed Michelle to be our model for practice.
